As expected, Tyler Beach picks up Wisconsin offer at junior day

With offers already on the table from Michigan, Oregon State and Syracuse, among others, it was assumed Tyler Beach would would pick up another from Wisconsin this weekend during its junior day.

And that's exactly what happened, as the 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive tackle earned a scholarship from head coach Paul Chryst and the Badgers.

"I'm so excited and grateful to have it," Beach told BadgerBlitz.com. "They told me at the junior day today (Saturday) when I was talking to coach Chryst and coach (Joe) Rudolph, and they said they loved me and that I'm a great fit in the program.

"They saw me work out and talked to my coach Thursday, and they were impressed."

Beach was one of at least 17 in-state prospects on campus Saturday, and one of four who picked up offers along with Logan Bruss, Alex Fenton and Aaron Vopal.

"The visit was great," Beach said. "I loved seeing the academic side of the University, and I got to see how great the college town was.

"I plan on taking all my options in and letting the recruiting process play out, but Wisconsin is a top interest."

The Badgers currently have one commitment in the 2017 class from four-star offensive lineman Kayden Lyles.
