2018 QB Ben Bryant enjoyed night game atmosphere at Camp Randall

The Wisconsin Badgers made a concerted effort to get recruits on campus to visit Madison for their two night games this year, one against No. 2 Ohio State and then Saturday’s game against No. 7 Nebraska.

And in addition to this game being a success for UW after they pulled off a 23-17 overtime win over the Cornhuskers, it seems as though the night went well for their visitors - including 2018 quarterback Ben Bryant.

Bryant was on campus for the game and told BadgerBlitz.com that he enjoyed the atmosphere in the city and the stadium, where the Badgers took a big step towards winning the Big Ten West and securing a bid to the Big Ten championship game.

“I really enjoyed the trip to Madison,” Bryant told BadgerBlitz.com on Sunday. “It’s always fun being there for a game day. Camp Randall is such an amazing atmosphere. We also got to go into the locker room after the game which was a lot of fun."

Bryant, one of three 2018 quarterbacks to hold an offer from UW, said that he liked getting a chance to see Wisconsin’s facilities after they pulled the trigger and became the first school to offer him a scholarship over the summer.

Bryant camped with the Badgers earlier this year and received an offer from UW staffer Jon Budmayr, who works almost exclusively with the Badger quarterbacks along with head coach Paul Chryst. Bryant said he got a chance to catch up with Budmayr on Saturday, too, and said he likes how the UW coaching staff develops their players.

“I really like the coaching staff,” Bryant said when asked about his relationship with the Badgers. “They really develop their players into big time athletes which is really nice.”

Bryant also holds a scholarship offer from Central Michigan and has interest from Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Illinois and Northwestern, among others, but said that it’s still too early for him to be thinking about what kind of timeline he wants his recruitment to follow. But so far he likes what the Badgers have to offer - both from a coaching standpoint and when it comes to the team’s personality.

“I just want a place that I can grow and develop as a person and a player,” Bryant said. “I really like how (the Badgers) aren't afraid of anyone. People doubt them and they prove a lot of people wrong. They are a really tough team and I like that a lot."
