Jack Hemphill admitted that he expected to receive an offer from Wisconsin during an official visit this past weekend.

"Yes sir, I was disappointed," Hemphill told BadgerBlitz.com. "But I can't control that."

Despite that, the 6-foot-9, 230-pound three-star prospect from Ravenscroft School in North Carolina still had positive things to say about his time in Madison.

"The visit went well," Hemphill said. "I really enjoyed the football game and the overall atmosphere in Madison was pretty impressive. I also liked getting to know all the players - they're all really good guys. Brad Davison was my host and he's a really good dude. I enjoyed getting to know him.

"The fanbase and culture of winning the right way really stood out to me."

Hemphill was one of three official visitors on campus this weekend along with 2018 commit Tyler Herro and target Joe Hedstrom. UW currently has one more scholarship available for the senior class.

"The feedback from the coaches was still basically the same stuff," Hemphill, who competed with Team CP3 on the EYBL circuit this offseason, said. "They like me, think I would be a great fit, etc.

"They haven't currently offered anybody else as far as I know. But I don't really know if I'm still a priority for them in this class, to be honest with you."

American University, Appalachian State, Boston University, Furman, New Hampshire and William & Mary have offered so far with Clemson and Rutgers keeping in contact.

"I took an official to UNCW last weekend and it went really well," said Hemphill, who will take another official to Boston this upcoming weekend. "I like their staff a lot and that program. Obviously very different than Wisconsin but I like what they have to offer."

Outside of Hemphill and Hedstrom, UW recently reached out to Illinois senior Ryan Davis.
