- Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott, on the possibility of the conference expanding to 16 teams and being one of a four superconferences - before rejecting Texas and other schools for conference expansion.



The 2011-12 season continues and while the conference rejects adding Texas and others, the men's hoop television schedule was announced.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, a new policy for transgender athletes was approved.





USC

In football, senior defensive lineman Armond Armstead will redshirt this season.



WSU

In football, the Cougars were beaten by the San Diego State Aztecs to drop to 2-1 overall on the season.


In soccer, Wazzu defeated Idaho and Gonzaga - to remain undefeated all-time against the Bulldogs to improve to 6-2-1 overall on the season. True freshman Beau Bremer was named as the Pac-12 Player of the Week.


In volleyball, the Cougars were swept by UCLA and USC to fall to 0-2 in conference play and 8-4 overall on the year.




Oregon

In football, the NCAA has formally notified Oregon of its investigation into a recruiting scandal involving a Texas-based recruiting service.



Stanford

In football, linebacker Shayne Skov is out for the year with a knee injury.



Washington

In football, tight end Marlion Burnett and linebacker Jordan Wallace will transfer out of the program.



UCLA

In women's hoop, senior forward Jasmine Dixon is out for the season after rupturing her Achilles tendon.



Arizona State

In football, the Sun Devil sophomore defensive lineman Junior Onyeali will be out for six weeks and possibly the entire season after suffering a meniscus knee injury.
