It's Haka time!

Kyle Whittingham added another crucial piece of his 2006 recruiting class with the public commitment of Kahuku's Joseph Faifili.

Faifili was up until this past week considered a relative unknown to the national recruiting scene. However, during the Army All American Bowl practices for the West defensive unit Faifili made sure everybody knew who he was.

Late last year Faifili spoke to UteZone.com and indicated his interest had been trimmed down to three schools, Utah, BYU and Arizona. For those watching the All American Bowl however one could clearly see the absence of a BYU hat on the table being replaced by an Oregon hat.

The Utes are picking up a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. With the departure of Steve Fifita most likely to the NFL the Utes will be looking for young players to step up and fill that gap.

It has been observered that Faifili can move surprisingly quick for his size and also has lightning fast feet.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Faifili is the first ever Hawaiian player to play in the prestigious Army game.

Five-star defensive tackle Gerald McCoy commented about Faifili, "Faifili, to be honest I didn't know who he was," McCoy said. "But he's one of the most underrated players I've ever seen. He's should be rated just as high as any of these other guys because he's just that good."
