Dallas Duo: Ausborne pledges to UW
X'zaviae Ausborne and Takadrae Williams play in the same defensive backfield at South Oak Cliff High School.
The duo will continue to work together at Wisconsin, as Ausborne, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback, pledged to the Badgers just hours after Williams on Friday afternoon.
"Ausborne is also committed," South Oak Cliff head coach Emmett Jones told BadgerBlitz.com. "He's committed to Wisconsin along with Takadrae."
Ausborne, a two-star prospect, was recruited by safeties coach Bill Busch.
"They're doing a great job and we like what Wisconsin is doing," Jones said. "They're putting in a lot of hard work because they are not only hitting our school hard, they are working a lot of the Texas area. And again, that's coach Busch. We talk all the time. He likes our kids and they feel the same way about him. Wisconsin is trying to put their flag in the state of Texas and they're doing a good job."
Ausborne will bring speed to the position at Wisconsin. He ran a 10.60 (second) in the 100-meter dash and a 21.59 in the 200-meter dash this April.
"Another guy who can bring a lot of speed," Jones said. "He (Ausborne) can really fly and coach Busch has done a great job with him, too."
Like Takadrae, Williams chose Wisconsin over an offer from Louisville. He is the eighth known commitment in the Badgers' 2015 class.
It will be interesting to see how UW moves forward at the cornerback position in the current cycle. The Badgers are not expected to graduate any seniors at the conclusion on the 2014 season, but Terrance Floyd, T.J. Reynard, Darius Hillary and Devin Gaulden are entering their junior year of eligibility.
Ronnie Hoggins, Duke Shelley, T.J. Griffin and Marcus Holton, among others, remaining big targets for the Badgers at cornerback in the current cycle.
