Kohout moves on
Redshirt junior defensive tackle Jordan Kohout cut his football career short because of recurring migraine headache issues, according to a report on UWBadgers.com.
Kohout, a 6-foot-3 tackle from Waupun, Wis., struggled with migraine headaches during spring practices, and has applied for a medical scholarship after suffering what the report calls "two small strokes" during the spring.
Kohout has applied for a medical scholarship, and is planning on remaining with the team as a student assistant. It's an early end for a once-promising college football career, since Kohout started seven games in 2010 and was expected to be a major contributor on the Badgers' defensive line in 2012.
Beau Allen and Ethan Hemer are now likely to start as the team's No. 1 defensive tackles, with Warren Herring getting into the mix after moving inside from defensive end. Bryce Gilbert will also likely get into the mix for playing time, after putting together several solid performances during spring camp.
You can find the full story on Kohout's decision here on UWBadgers.com.
