Chris Bush doesn't qualify for Vanderbilt

Washington's Chris Bush, a Rivals.com three-star signee this February, will not be enrolling at Vanderbilt, according to Offensive Line Coach Robbie Caldwell.

Bush, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound star at Washington's Rogers High School, did not finish with the kind of semester he needed to qualify academically at Vanderblt.

"We told him our (academic) standards here at Vanderbilt," said Caldwell on Thursday evening. "He was expected to maintain or go higher, and he let his grades slip, and we had to let him go."

Bush was expected to play offensive tackle at Vanderbilt. His inability to qualify leaves immediate room for Joey Bailey, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound freshman from Trussville, Ala., on Vandy's 85-man scholarship roster. Bailey had been a "greyshirt" signee and was originally scheduled to report to Vanderbilt on scholarship in January of 2007.
