Week 8: Commit Capsules

BadgerBlitz.com takes a look at how Wisconsin's commits in the 2018 and 2019 recruiting classes performed during Week 8 of the high school football season.

Nakia Watson and his Westlake (6-0) teammates defeated Hayes, 34-24, to remain undefeated on the season. The senior running back had two one-yard touchdown runs and an 11-yard TD reception during the win.

Chase Wolf, who has been Mr. Efficient this fall, completed 16 of his 21 pass attempts for 194 yards and four touchdowns. St. Xavier defeated La Salle, 42-7, Friday night.

Isaac Guerendo (injury) played a limited role during Avon's 41 -0 win over Zionsville.

Jaylan Franklin led Carlson (7-0) in rushing with 97 yards on six attempts and was also 1 for 3 through the air en route to a 49-20 victory over Taylor Truman.

West Bloomfield has now won five straight games after starting the season 0-2. The Lakers (5-2) defeated Troy Athens, 48-20, Friday evening. A.J. Abbott had a touchdown reception in the win.

Boyd Dietzen had five total tackles in a 37-0 win over Kaukauna.

Lincoln Southeast is now 3-4 this fall after a 20-8 win over Bellevue East.

Culver City improved to 6-0 after a 46-28 win over El Segundo. Alex Smith had an 87-yard kickoff return for a score during the victory.

Wisconsin commits Mason Platter (Menomonie) and Cormac Sampson (Eau Claire Memorial) squared off Friday evening. The Mustangs, who are now 8-0 the season, came away with a 26-7 win.

Harvest Prep is now 6-1 after a 56-21 win over Berne Union.

A Jack Sanborn-led defense pitched a 28-0 shutout against Stevenson.

Milan (4-3) defeafed Grosse Ile, 51-21.

Reggie Pearson and his River Rouge defense recorded its third consecutive shutout after a 56-0 win over Consortium College Prep.

Erasmus Hall is now 5-0 after a 39-0 win over DeWitt Clinton.

Atascocita racked up over 500 total yards and limited Channelview to under 200 during a 62-7 Thursday night. Travian Blaylock helped in the return game in addition to his role at cornerback.

Loganville fell to 1-5 on the season after a 49-21 defeat at the hands of Clarke Central.

Class of 2019

Grantsburg continued its impressive run this season with a 64-7 win over Shell Lake. Leo Chenal rushed four times for 69 yards and two touchdowns, had one 29-yard reception and added one tackle on defense.
