WATCH: Chryst talks Purdue prep

Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst met with local media members on Thursday morning to give a few updates on his team as they prepare to play the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. Video of Chryst's session is courtesy of UWBadgers.com, and a few notes are included below.

-- The Badgers will be without senior wide receiver Jazz Peavy on Saturday, according to the team's updated injury report, along with safety Patrick Johnson and running back Taiwan Deal. Senior defensive end Chikwe Obasih and senior wide receiver George Rushing will also continue to miss time with their long-term injuries.

Chryst said that Peavy, who has just five catches through five games this year, has been battling his leg injury for a while.

"It's an opportunity for other guys to step up," Chryst said Thursday after practice. "You always want all of your players, and yet you want them to be at their best."

"(The injury is) something that's kind of been lingering. The best way to get him healthy by the doctors is to rest him."

-- The Badgers also had both of their top two left guards, Jon Dietzen and Micah Kapoi, listed as questionable for the game. If one or both players are not able to play this weekend, expect reserve guard Jason Erdmann to get a lot of snaps. Chryst said that Purdue will be a tough test for his offensive line, healthy or not.

"We're calling on a lot of guys. I think that happens at every position," Chryst said. "This will be a huge challenge for our front. They've got a really good front seven, and so that's an opportunity but it's going to be a challenging one."
