The fact Gesicki has yet to commit to Ohio State bodes well for the Badgers, but that was an offer he's always wanted. Gesicki continues to take visits, so his top 4 may not be as solid as it once was as well.
With Taiwan Deal in the mix, UW may not be in a position to accept a verbal from Ollison -- the staff recently passed on L.J. Scott, a similar back in comparison. A few more teams in Ollison's top 5 could be in the same boat, leaving Syracuse the likely favorite.
It's probably Michigan State for James unless Wisconsin can get him on campus this summer. "I still love Pitt. I still love Michigan State. I still love Wisconsin. Like I said, I just want to get back out there to those schools with my grandmother to get a nice, last feel for it."
Deal will be in his teammate's ear, but it may be tough to get Phillips to leave the East Coast. "This Monday, I will be at UVA, and next month I'm going to visit Wisconsin, West Virginia and Virginia Tech. I'm going to try to get back to Rutgers sometime as well."
Godfrey will likely be on campus for an official visit this fall. If Wisconsin is still in need of a safety to pair next to Austin Hudson, look for the staff to make a hard push for Godfrey, who could also play corner if needed.
Three potential starters at linebacker are set to graduate, allowing for Derricott to compete for a starting role immediately in 2014. "Wisconsin, I'm going to visit in the fall, too. I don't know when yet, but I'm setting up a visit date. That's a winning program and a program I'm going to consider for sure."
Byrum is often quick to mention N.C. State, Old Dominion and Wisconsin, but the first two schools listed appear to be pulling away a bit. If his top group holds true, look for N.C. State to come away with Byrum's commitment.
As of now, Izzo, who recently visited Iowa, Wisconsin and USC, is looking to make his commitment before his senior season. "I said before the season, that's when I'm looking to make it. But if I'm not sure about my decision, I'll take it into the season and take my officials and go from there."

It's tough to gauge where Brown is leaning, but a decision is expected soon with a December graduation on the horizon. He's already visited most West Coast schools on multiple occasions and taken a tour through Big Ten country. Next up is an Aug. 2 visit to Vanderbilt followed by a trip to Oregon and Oregon State.
Plattenburg trimmed his list to 10 schools with Wisconsin the lone school representing the Midwest. Washington is believed to be his leader but Cal is making a strong push. "She loved it," Plattenburg said of his mother. "She was blown away; honestly to her, Cal is her No. 1."

Rutgers, Syracuse and West Virginia are probably out in front for Hallmon, who recently trimmed his list to 10 schools. "If it were up to me I would decide before the season." Wisconsin has also offered two of his teammates at Cypress Bay, Marquese Dudley-Gordon and Kadeem Goulbourne.
