With spring football over, recruiting takes center stage for Wisconsin's coaching staff. Over the next two weeks, BadgerBlitz.com will analyze UW's recruiting efforts with a position-by-position breakdown of targets to see how the Badgers will fill their 2014 recruiting class.
Today, we conclude our series with a look at the athletes.
1. How many will Wisconsin take?
Unlike the other positions profiled in this series, the fact that most recruits profiled as athletes can play multiple positions makes this difficult to predict.
2. Who has Wisconsin landed so far?
The Badgers have a commitment from Ula Tolutau, who can play on either side of the ball at the next level. Tolutau will enroll in 2016.
"He's a big, physical, abusive runner with speed," Salt Lake City (Utah) East head coach Brandon Matich told BadgerBlitz.com. "But he's a 4.6 (40-yard dash) guy who's 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds. He runs with great aggression and has a nasty side to him when he straps that helmet on.
"The intangible stuff is also great with Ula, who is humble and a tremendous leader. He doesn't want any attention at all, he wants it all to be on the team and that's part of the reason why he wanted to commit early."
3. Who's off the board?
Dareian Watkins was thought to be a heavy Badgers lean at one point, but the old staff cooled on him and the new staff was unable to make up the ground. The four-star prospect eventually committed to Northwestern.
The Badgers have also offered Jimmy Bayes, who is currently a soft verbal to USF. Wisconsin likes Bayes at wide receiver.
4. Which recruits does Wisconsin have the best shot at landing?
Sione Takitaki listed the Badgers in his top two soon after his offer, and should visit Madison before he makes a college choice. Takitaki can play a number of defensive positions, but would likely play outside linebacker in Dave Aranda's 3-4 defense.
Thomas Wilson is someone else who will likely visit Wisconsin as the Badgers continue to make a push into Georgia. Wilson is being looked at as a cornerback. The Badgers have also offered two of Wilson's teammates, Zavior Hoxie and Korie Rogers
5. Any long shots out there?
The Badgers had offered Noah Brown, Brandon Powell and Stanton Truitt early, but offers have continued to pour in for all three, and all should be considered longshots.
