All signs point to Wisconsin
The University of Wisconsin appears to be inching closer to its 11th verbal commitment in the 2009 recruiting class.
After receiving a Badger offer in the mail Friday, Jeff Duckworth, a wide receiver from Cincinnati (OH) Princeton, was planning on making an unofficial visit to Madison on Sunday.
That trip, however, was postponed until next weekend, though his Facebook page may hint at what could become official in seven days.
Currently, the 6-foot, 194-pound prospect "is a Wisconsin Badger" according to the status section of his Facebook page, a social networking Web site.
"I technically haven't made an official decision yet," Duckworth told BadgerBlitz.com when asked if his status was official. "I'll make my official announcement after my visit to Wisconsin next weekend.
"As of now, it's still Wisconsin and Indiana. I'll be able to give you more information and my decision next weekend."
A message from Duckworth to current Badger verbal Brian Wozniak on the same Web site mentioned his intentions to play for the Badgers in 2009.
Both players are being recruited by first year tight ends coach Joe Rudolph, who landed his first verbal at UW after Wozniak committed in June.
As a junior, Duckworth had 62 catches for 900 and seven touchdowns. If the decision becomes official during his trip to Madison next weekend, Duckworth will be the first wide receiver to commit in Wisconsin's current recruiting class.
