The Rutgers Receivers: Down without Brown?
As Rutgers receiver Tim Brown nurses a broken hand, questions have begun to surround the Rutgers receiving corps. The speedy sophomore made tremendous strides towards the end of his freshman season, and fans were excited to see him come out strong against Buffalo. However, with top-notch starters and newfound depth at the receiver position, the questions are turning to answers.
Starters Kenny Britt and Tiquan Underwood had an outstanding training camp and each will be a terror to defenses once the season gets underway.
"It's obvious Kenny has had a great camp," said head coach Greg Schiano. "We need to get Kenny into game week and get going. It's the same thing with Ty. Teel and those guys are right, they're in sync right now. We just have to keep them sharp, keep them playing and keep them healthy."
But there's more to the receiving corps than just Britt and Underwood. Schiano will send fresh legs into sets with more receivers split out wide.
