Auburn signee cleared by NCAA
Better late than never. Auburn 2006 signee Alex Rose knows this better than anyone.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, who signed with the Tigers in February, was to report to the Plains with the rest of the freshmen June 6. Instead, he'll be more than two months late.
After a tenth-grade math class was flagged by the NCAA, Rose was ruled ineligible and he doubted if he would ever get to Auburn this year. However, after an appeal, which included a personally-written note to the NCAA by Rose, the three-star recruit out of Jacksonville's First Coast High School said he has been cleared.
Recruiting coach Al Borges delivered the news on Tuesday.
