Bulldogs keeping their focus
Mississippi State is riding a four game winning streak and enjoying their first Top 25 ranking since 2001 this week.
But head coach Dan Mullen is keeping a close eye on his Bulldogs to make sure their focus is still where it needs to be and they continue to put the hard work that got them to reach this point.
"This going to be a different week for us in what we do," Mullen said. "We are coming off a little bit of success that we are having right now. The important thing for our program is to keep what got us here which is all of the hard work our players have put in to this point and that has to be our number one focus this week."
Even before MSU returned to the practice fields Sunday afternoon the team was put through a grueling workout with strength and conditioning coach Matt Balis.
"They lift before they come out and practice and Matt Balis and I talked so I made sure that he reminded them of what got us here," Mullen said. "There were some interesting faces walking out of that weight room after he finished working them out yesterday. He got his point across and I was really pleased with the focus at practice."
Also each Sunday night is an opportunity for some of the Bulldogs true freshman to shine. The 2010 signees work exclusively with the staff following the regular team practice to gain valuable reps to continue their progression for the future.
